Sims 4 Royalty Mod
This is a challenge that sort of evolved from my several attempts at the Legacy challenge. If you are interested in royal families in real life then this might be a interest to you. The purpose of this challenge is to create and manage your own royal dynasty.
I am going to write this challenge from a matriarch pov. This challenge is not set in stone and many of the 'rules' are just what I decided to do in my game. Feel free to change what you want.
Mods that will help you do this challenge. Nrass Industries Super Computer, and if you want a story progression mod.
Starting Out: Start a fresh town with no one it. Then Create your King and Queen. For example( Queen Victoria Mayfair and King William Mayfair) Populate the town with various other families. Once your done, start playing the royal family. Kings and Queens will always give birth to princes and princesses. The Queen must give birth to a female heir. This is the break down of the royal ranks.
1.Kings and Queens are at the top, they are considered to have 100% royal blood.
2.Princes and Princesses are considered to have 100% royal blood.
3.Duchesses and Dukes are considered to have 50% royal blood.
4.Countesses and Counts are considered to have 25% royal blood.
5.Lords and Ladies are considered to have 10% royal blood.
Once your King and Queen have children then it's time to marry them off to the commoners you filled the town with. Males cannot pass their last names, every marriage must take the female partners name. The heir to the throne stays with the King and Queen and the heir can marry anyone without her future children suffering a decrease in rank. This means that the heir will always give birth to more princes and princesses. This is how you marry off the royalty and what the ranks of their children will be.
1. A Princess(not the heir) who marries a commoner will give birth to children who bear the title of Duke or Duchess.
2. A Prince who marries a commoner will give birth to children who bear the title of Count or Countess.(this is because in my game greater importance to females)
3. A Duke or Duchess who marries a commoner will give birth to Counts and Countesses.
4. A Count or Countess who marries a commoner will give birth to a Lady or a Lord.
5. Lords and Ladies are the lowest level of royalty and can not pass their royalty through commoners.
Royalty marries other royalty.
1. Any royal who marries another royal will give birth to children bearing a title one level above the lesser royal partner. The one exception is a princess, any princess who marries a lesser royal(count, lord) will give birth to a duke or duchess, any princess who marries a duke or higher will give birth to a prince or princess. For example a Princess(100% royal blood) who marries a Count(25% royal blood) will give birth to a Duke or Duchess.(50% royal blood) Another example, If a prince(100%) marries a Duchess(50%) then his children will be princes and princesses.Or if a Duke(50% royal blood) who marries a Lady(10% royal blood) will give birth to a count or countess(25% royal blood)
Important things to mention. The first few generations of your royal family will rapidly loose their royalty by marrying commoners. Around the 3rd or 4th generations the various royals will be distantly related enough to marry other royals. Like if you look at real royals like Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, or Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, their family history is is all about maintaining royal blood. Royalty only marries other royalty. Both Beatrix and Elizabeth are descendants of Queen Victoria, and they can trace many other common royal ancestors. If you do this challenge correctly then by the 5th or 6th generation you will find that the royals are all descendants of the original Queen through BOTH the mother and father.
You will also find that high level royals will become rare in the early generations. For example early in my game, the 4th generation heir, Princess Jeanne drowned. Her mother the Queen Charlotte was an elder so she couldn't give birth to another heir. To my surprise the only other princess in my game was Princess Angelia, sister to the 2nd generation Queen Deborah. She was also an elder but she married a commoner and gave birth to a Duchess. This Duchess as a direct female descendant of a Queen and was next in line to the throne. Direct female descent is preferred over all others.
Basically your game will have a lot more lesser royals(ladies, countesses) than high level royals (duchesses, princesses)
ALSO very important! Your main royal family should only give birth to 3 children. If you have 2 sons and are worried that a 3rd son will be born, use super computer mod to force the gender to be female. This is because royalty is meant to be a minority, if you have many royal children than those royals will give birth to more royals and soon you'll have too many. There are commoners in the game, they are to be the majority. If you do more than 3 in every generation than soon everyone will be royal which is bad!
General guidelines
1. Remember to marry Lords and Ladies to other royals, it is a pain when you have commoners running around with royal descent.
2. When a Queen reaches elder status, then if you want the next heir is renamed as Queen.
3. You must use the super computer mod often to change royal names. For example when a prince marries a commoner, then you must add the title of princess to her name. But the children of that union will produce dukes or duchesses NOT princes and princesses.
4. When the reigning Queen steps down or dies, then the heir and her partner are renamed from princess and prince to Queen and King.
5. You can choose to marry attractive sims, or sims with certain genetic traits such as a certain hair color. The royalty are meant to be exclusive.
6. You can choose to maintain a certain trait within royals. For example I gave the majority of the royals genius and snob traits.
I guess this challenge is pretty complicated, but I study European history so it's interesting to me. I am not gonna make up score points or anything. This is just for players who want to create a realistic royal lineage. Um there are more little rules that I have but I will post those later if people seem interested in this.
